Claro Fish Jr. sits near the corner on Boulevard Antonio Mijares in downtown San José del Cabo, offering a casual seafood dining experience that blends Mexican coastal flavors with a laid-back local vibe. The open-air setup makes it a comfortable spot to settle in during the afternoon or early evening, especially when the breeze from the Sea of Cortez cools the street ambiance.

This spot is clearly designed for those seeking authentic Baja-style seafood without the touristy polish or high prices commonly found near the big resorts. Diners often start with a well-stocked salsa and salad bar, which invites customization and adds a playful, communal element to the meal. The variety of salsas and fresh toppings lets you build tacos or plates exactly to your taste, making the experience engaging and personalized.

The menu is anchored by classic seafood tacos and Mexican staples, with standout items like coconut shrimp, grilled shrimp, and marlin tacos frequently highlighted by visitors. The seafood tower and shrimp empanadas offer heartier options, while clamato with cerveza and refreshing margaritas round out the casual bar and grill atmosphere. Portions tend to be generous, which complements the moderately priced dishes and makes Claro Fish Jr. a practical spot for groups or families.

Visitors looking for no-frills, earnest flavors will find the environment straightforward and welcoming-think open tables, friendly chatter, and an emphasis on fresh seafood rather than haute cuisine. It’s a place where locals and travelers alike can enjoy vibrant tacos paired with a cold Pacifico, while the salsa bar encourages trying different combinations and bringing a bit of creativity to the meal.

Overall, Claro Fish Jr. works best for seafood enthusiasts who appreciate simple, filling meals in a casual setting. It's especially suitable for those keen to explore local flavors without straying far from the town center. The best times to visit are midday or early evening when the open-air dining feels most comfortable, and the energy hums with the coming and going of locals and visitors mixing over tacos and drinks.

The food was delicious, and big portions, the servoce was excellent. There a salad bar, with salad dressings, salsas and different salads. We had a good time dinning there.

honestly best fish tacos we had on this trip. Marlin and battered fish tacos were great!

Had my best dish in Cabo here. Highly recommend the shrimp quesadillas. The salsa bar is also worth the trip. Very casual open air restaurant.

Came by recommendation from Cabo Azul. We usually eat around the large hotels and it usually is very pricey which leaves us wondering why we were paying for more pricey food in Mexico than in the US. Claros ended up feeling like a lot more reasonable price. We ordered several types of tacos. Ultimately loved the coconut shrimp, grilled shrimp, and arrachera tacos. The octopus and scallop tacos were good but did not have quite as much flavor. The tacos were pretty loaded with meat. Could probably order extra tortillas and make 3 tacos into 5. I loved the coconut shrimp and will go back to get 3 coconut shrimp tacos for dinner. They have an awesome salsa bar with slaws, salsas, and dressings. The guacamole was reasonably priced and very tasty. Also a large portion. Maybe the best salsa bar I’ve ever seen. We also ordered limonadas and they were also delicious. Ultimately will make this a regular place we visit every year instead of Lateral or La Mexicana. I’ll be honest the service wasn’t top notch and orders were messed up but I don’t speak Spanish so I can’t expect there to not be any mix ups. We only ended up paying for what we originally ordered so mix ups were fixed in the end!

I was not going to take photos as I was very unsure about how it was really going to taste. It actually was great. We tried the crunchy shrimp, scallops, marlin, tuna and more tacos. They give you your main ingredient on a tortilla and then you add your toppings from a buffet type station. Not expensive. Very simple good food. I would for sure go again but likely do a better job on toppings and sauces.

I had fried fish and my friend Mathias some octobus, everythibg was very good. Only thing we went after sunset and we were eaten by the mosquitos. The guy from tge place gave some anto mosquito spray to the customers but that was after we finished food, defenitly recommend to wear long trousers and closed shoes there if you go for dinner!

Good tacos. Not bad not great. Had the crispy fish and crispy shrimp. Both felt underseasoned. The fish and shrimp in of themselves were fresh. Wife had the marlin which was unique and worth trying. Also the octopus felt under seasoned.
